August was a member of the House of Württemberg and a Prince of Württemberg by birth, as the fifth and youngest child of Prince Paul of Württemberg, brother of Wilhelm I of Württemberg, and his wife Princess Charlotte of Saxe-Hildburghausen. August married morganatically to Marie Bethge on 14 November 1868. August and Marie had one daughter.
Charles ( German: Karl Friedrich Alexander; 6 March 1823 – 6 October 1891) was King of Württemberg from 25 June 1864 until his death in 1891. [1] Charles I married Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna of Russia in 1846 and ascended to the throne in 1864. Despite their marriage, the couple had no children, likely due to Charles' homosexuality.
Duchess Marie-Thérèse of Württemberg (born 12 November 1934), she married Prince Henri d'Orléans, Count of Paris on 5 July 1957 and they were divorced on 3 February 1984. They have five children and twelve grandchildren. Carl, Duke of Württemberg (1 August 1936 – 7 June 2022), he married Princess Diane d'Orléans on 18 July 1960.
William II ( German: Wilhelm Karl Paul Heinrich Friedrich; 25 February 1848 – 2 October 1921) was the last King of Württemberg. He ruled from 6 October 1891 until the dissolution of the kingdom on 30 November 1918. He was the last German ruler to abdicate in the wake of the November Revolution of 1918 .
