6 de oct. de 2023 · Wilhelm Wundt opened the Institute for Experimental Psychology at the University of Leipzig in Germany in 1879. This was the first laboratory dedicated to psychology, and its opening is usually thought of as the beginning of modern psychology. Indeed, Wundt is often regarded as the father of psychology.
Wilhelm Wundt. Wilhelm Maximilian Wundt (16 de agosto de 1832 - 31 de agosto de 1920) fue un fisiólogo, filósofo y profesor alemán, conocido hoy como uno de los padres de la psicología moderna. Wilhelm Wundt was a German philosopher, physiologist, physician, and professor who is widely considered to be the “father of experimental psychology.”. He played a major role in establishing psychology as a discipline that is independent of philosophy and was the first person to study the mind using the scientific method.

Esta ciencia, de marcado carácter experimental y explicativo, debe tener como objetivo el estudio de la experiencia inmediata y los procesos psicológicos simples (como las sensaciones), a través de métodos experimentales (Cubero y Santamaría, 2005).
