Born on Jan. 2, 1822, in Köslin, Pomerania, R. J. E. Clausius was the sixth son of the 18 children of the Reverend C. E. G. Clausius, a Lutheran pastor and councilor of the Royal Government School Board in Köslin.
2 de ene. de 2017 · Born on 2 January 1822 in Köslin, Prussia (now Poland), Rudolf Clausius was a pioneer in thermodynamics. He earned his doctorate from the University of Halle in 1847 and three years later became physics professor at the Artillery and Engineering School at Berlin.
Rudolf Clausius developed the first modern version of the kinetic theory of gases. His derivation provided the means to predict the heat capacity of a monatomic gas and to quantify the mean free path distance traveled by atoms between collisions.
