His father was also called Thomas Lawrence and his mother was Lucy Read, the daughter of a clergyman. Thomas’s father had several jobs, including innkeeper at the White Lion in Bristol.
Thomas Lawrence begann als Wunderkind mit dem Zeichnen in Devizes, wo sein Vater Wirt war.
