Hyperrealisme. Inez van Lamsweerde en Vinoodh Matadin begonnen hun internationale carrière in 1994 met een tien pagina's tellende publicatie in het Britse tijdschrift The Face. Het was de eerste modereportage waarbij de modellen en de achtergrond afzonderlijk werden gefotografeerd en daarna werden samengevoegd met behulp van een computer.

Van Lamsweeerde började sin karriär helt inom konstfältet och tillbringade ett år som stipendiat vid PS 1 Contemporary Art Center i New York. Sedan slutet av 1980-talet har hon samarbetat med Vinoodh Matadin, som hon träffade i deras hemstad Amsterdam. Vinoodh Matadin var vid denna tid designer och i deras gemensamma arbete rörde sig mellan konst och mode.
