Dès la lecture de ses premiers vers, Anna Akhmatova salue en lui le poète le plus doué de la jeune génération. Arrêté, jugé le 18 février 1964 pour parasitisme social et fainéantise, il est condamné à cinq ans de travaux correctifs.
