Frederick III [a] (Friedrich Wilhelm Nikolaus Karl; 18 October 1831 – 15 June 1888) was German Emperor and King of Prussia for 99 days between March and June 1888, during the Year of the Three Emperors. Known informally as "Fritz", he was the only son of Emperor Wilhelm I and was raised in his family's tradition of military service.

In over 5 years of study and meetings with many expert historians, the universally recognised form of "Wilhelm" has been used. I have only ever seen the term Emperor William II used in outdated British textbooks. In England he is actually just known as 'The Kaiser'- Change article to Wilhelm II, German Kaiser. ~James.
