John Alvin ( Estados Unidos, 24 de noviembre de 1948–6 de febrero de 2008) fue un diseñador gráfico norteamericano, cartelista de Hollywood que trabajó con Steven Spielberg, Mel Brooks y la factoría Disney. Alvin se graduó en el Art Center College of Design de Los Ángeles y se convirtió en un artista independiente.
John Alvin was an American artist and painter who is most famous for his movie posters. Producing images for over 200 films, Alvin’s extremely evocative style became a mainstay in the industry over the course of his career. Indeed, Alvinesque is now shorthand for a work that is both technically proficient and extremely emotional.

Seeing the art in person, it is exciting to be able to dissect how he achieved the emotionally intimate quality for which his illustration art is most well-known.

He also produced work for Disney Fine Art (Disney character official portraits).
