12 de may. de 2022 · Listen Now. 1. Charles Babbage was a poorly child. Charles Babbage was born in 1791 and baptised at St Mary’s, Newington in London on 6 January 1792. A serious fever led to him being despatched to a school near Exeter at the age of eight, and he would later have private tuition on account of his poor health.
Charles Babbage (1791-1871) found a way to simplify these calculations, and in so doing conceived one of the earliest notions of a general-purpose computer. Never completed in his lifetime, a remaining fragment built by his son, Henry, demonstrates the working principles of Babbage's design.
