After years of extensively touring Australia's pub circuit, Men At Work released their 1981 debut, Business As Usual, through Columbia Records, and the mainstream finally took note. The giddy heights of '80s fame were never quite matched throughout the rest of their career, with the duo calling it quits for good in 2002.

"1982 came a fresh new band, Men at Work. New wave music takes me back to the old days, especially my freshmen year in high school back in 1982-1983 when I was constantly listening to vinyl or tapes, including Business as Usual as well as Rush's Signals, Duran Duran's Rio, Roxy Music's Avalon, The Police's Synchronicity, The Fixx's Reach the Beach and Talking Heads' Speaking in Tongues.
Men at Work (englisch für Männer bei der Arbeit) ist eine australische Rockband, die ihre erfolgreichste Zeit in den 1980er Jahren erlebte. Der Name kam dem Sänger Colin Hay in den Sinn, als er an einer Baustelle vorbeifuhr, auf der neun Bauarbeiter herumsaßen und nur ein einziger die ganze Arbeit verrichtete.
Men At Work were born in Melbourne, Australia in the middle of 1979. The band went on to become a globally successful Grammy winning, multi-platinum selling act, during the early 80’s.
