He was a heel who transitioned from the preceding years to factor into main event storylines, add a great deal to Roddy Piper’s presentation, and prove a foil for a number of iconic heels. He’s a worthy Hall of Famer, and a too-often forgotten great villainous character of his time.
Robert “Bob” J. Orton, 74, passed peacefully in his home on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Mr. Orton was born March 1, 1947, to Ashbel (A.J.) and Wilma Groover Orton in West Palm Beach, Florida. After graduating from Palm Beach High School, he volunteered for the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam from 1966-1968.
