At Smithills, learning a language provides an opening to other cultures. Pupils’ curiosity is fostered and assist in the deepening of their understanding of the world. We enable pupils to express and justify their thoughts in a another language and to communicate information which goes beyond their immediate areas of interest, both verbally and in written format.
Public Examinations. Public Examination dates are set by the exam boards and examinations take place all over the country at the same time. Morning exams start at 9.15am and afternoon exams start at 1.15pm promptly. They will be held in the school hall or designated room.
We prepare pupils for life beyond the school by allowing pupils exposure to mathematics in the real world, ensuring pupils can make the link from classroom to career to ensure that they do not view learning mathematics as a redundant practise.
