1 de may. de 2022 · Lady Dorothy married George Savile on 29 December 1656, and they had two children: William Savile, 2nd Marquess of Halifax [2] Anne Savile, later Countess of Carberry In 1667, George Savile was created Viscount Halifax, but his elevation to the title of Marquess of Halifax came some years after Dorothy's death.
Savile, George, 1st Marquess of Halifax (1633–1695), politician and political writer, was born on 11 November 1633 at Thornhill Hall, near Dewsbury, Yorkshire, the second of seven children and eldest son of Sir William Savile, third baronet (1612–1644), landowner [see under Savile family (per. c. 1480-1644)].

He was educated in Geneva in 1677 and matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford in 1681, but did not take a degree.
