Ein wenig erinnert die Rolle in Swan Song an Kiers Auftritt als Puffmutter in Jean-Claude Schlims House of Boys – man könnte sie fast als Weiterführung davon betrachten. Hätte Stephens auf die verschiedenen Rückblenden, die keinen besonderen Mehrwert für die Geschichte bieten, verzichtet, hätte das den Film an den richtigen Stellen gekürzt und insgesamt noch eindrücklicher gemacht.
