Im Februar 1983 erbte Gore beim Tod seines Vaters dessen Titel als 9. Earl of Arran, 9. Viscount Sudley, 9. Baron Saunders, 5. Baron Sudley und 11. Baronet (of Castle Gore). Im House of Lords sitzt er als Baron Sudley, da die übrigen Peerwürden zur Peerage of Ireland gehören und daher nicht zu einem erblichen Sitz im House of Lords berechtigen.

Arthur Saunders Gore, 2nd Earl of Arran KP, PC (Ire) (25 July 1734 – 8 October 1809) styled The Honourable Arthur Gore from 1758 to 1762 and Viscount Sudley from 1762 to 1773, was an Irish peer and politician.

James Hamilton, 4th Earl of Arran. The title was first created in the Peerage of Scotland in 1467 for Thomas Boyd, who was later attainted for treason. The next creation was in 1503 for James Hamilton, 2nd Lord Hamilton. His grandson was declared insane in 1562 and the title passed to the king's favourite Captain James Stewart in 1581.
