Series Description. The Kraft Television Theatre was a 60 minute anthology drama series that aired live on NBC. While most of the episodes were dramas, a few comedies were thrown in for good measure. The storylines concentrated on subjects that middle-class families could relate to and included many of the most popular stars of the day.

The hour-long series, sponsored by Kraft Foods, premiered Wednesday, May 7th, 1947 on NBC. It aired continuously with no summer breaks for the next eleven and a half years.
