Frank Whittle (1. června 1907 – 9. srpna 1996) byl anglický vynálezce a strojní důstojník RAF, který významně rozvinul technologii proudového a tryskového motoru. Model proudového motoru si nechal patentovat již roku 1930 , v souvislosti se svou diplomovou prací.

Frank Whittle, né le 1 er juin 1907 à Coventry au Royaume-Uni [2] et mort le 9 août 1996 à Columbia (Maryland) aux États-Unis, est un ingénieur britannique, officier de la Royal Air Force. Il est reconnu, avec Hans von Ohain , comme l'un des inventeurs du réacteur qu'il breveta le 16 janvier 1930 , malgré l'existence d'un brevet antérieur déposé par René Lorin [ 3 ] .
