Prime Minister: 19 December 1852 -- 30 January 1855. George Hamilton Gordon, fourth Earl of Aberdeen was born on 28 January 1784 in Edinburgh. He was the eldest son and first of seven children born to George Gordon, Lord Haddo and his wife Charlotte Baird. Aberdeen was educated at preparatory schools in Barnet and Parsons Green, London.

George Gordon, Lord Haddo (28 January 1764 – 2 October 1791 of a fall from his horse at Gight Castle), who was the father of Prime Minister George Hamilton-Gordon, 4th Earl of Aberdeen, two other sons, and three daughters. Hon. William Gordon (c. 1765 – 19 March 1845) Built Rudding Park House 1805–1824.
George, third Earl of Aberdeen, was born 19 and baptized at Methlic 20 June 1722, and was served heir to his father 11 July 1746. He was elected a representative peer for Scotland 1747-84. By his wife Catherine, daughter of Oswald Hanson of Wakelield, county York (whom he married before 22 August 1759, and who died 15 March 1817, aged eighty-four, and was buried at Methlic) he had issue:-
