Maria Elisabeth of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp (6 June 1634, Gottorp Castle – 17 June 1665, Darmstadt), was by marriage landgravine of Hesse-Darmstadt. Life . Mary Elizabeth was a daughter of the Duke Frederick III of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp (1597–1659) from his marriage to Marie Elisabeth of Saxony (1610–1684), a daughter of the elector John George I of Saxony.
On May 11, 1628, Dorothea was appointed adjutant of Quedlinburg Monastery by her sister Dorothea Sophie, whose aunt Maria had been abbot of the monastery since before 1610. In 1633, Dorothea left the convent and she married Albert IV, Duke of Saxe-Eisenach (1599-1644) in Weimar on June 24.

Princess Louise of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg (Louise Dorothea Pauline Charlotte Fredericka Auguste; 21 December 1800 – 30 August 1831) was the wife of Ernst I, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and the mother of Duke Ernst II and Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria. She is also the paternal great-great-great grandmother of Elizabeth II.
