The noisy clan was headed by Mama, a buxom, gray-haired widow with sharp opinions and a sharper tongue who shared her small house with her high-strung sister Fran, her lazy, dimwitted son, Vint, and his troublesome teenage children.

When Mama's crazy old Uncle Oscar passes on, he leaves her his talking parrot, Captain Petey, who convinces the family that Mama was left a treasure worth more $50,000, which is hidden somewhere in the house.
