John Manners, 3rd Duke of Rutland KG PC (21 October 1696 – 29 May 1779) was an English nobleman, the eldest son of John Manners, 2nd Duke of Rutland and Catherine Russell. Styled Marquess of Granby from 1711, he succeeded to the title in 1721, cutting short a brief career in the House of Commons , where he had represented Rutland as a Whig .
John Henry Montagu Manners, 9th Duke of Rutland (21 September 1886 – 22 April 1940) was the son of Henry Manners, 8th Duke of Rutland and his wife Violet. Military career. His son was created Earl of Rutland in 1525, and John Manners, 9th Earl of Rutland was created Duke of Rutland in 1703. So Belvoir castle has been the home of the Manners family for five hundred years, and seat of the dukes of Rutland for over three centuries. The castle is open to the public and contains many works of art.

Frances Montagu, daughter of Edward Montagu, 1st Baron Montagu of Boughton and Frances Cotton, in 1628 at Barnwell Castle, Northamptonshire, England.2 He died on 29 September 1679 at age 75.
