Sidney, as it is affectionately known, has a reputation as being one of Cambridge’s more unassuming colleges – both in terms of the number of students it admits each year and its profile in the outside world.
The College recalls its members who gave their lives in war. At a short service on Remembrance Sunday, the Acting Master laid a wreath of poppies laid before the College's war memorial in Ante Chapel. The names of those members of Sidney Sussex that died in the First and Second World Wars were then be read out by members of the College community.
