Alfonsina Orsini (1472 – 7 February 1520) was a Regent of Florence. She governed the Republic of Florence during the absences of her son in the period of 1515–1519. He was the couple’s second surviving child, his sister Lucrezia had been born in 1470. Later in life he would earn the nickname Piero the Unfortunate. Piero’s father was head of the Medici Bank and Lord of Florence.
