Amherst College, private, independent liberal-arts college for men and women in Amherst, Massachusetts, U.S., established in 1821 and chartered in 1825. The lexicographer Noah Webster was one of the founders of the college, which was originally intended to train indigent men for the ministry.
Amherst has an endowment of $3.322 billion (as of June 30, 2021), as well as extensive physical resources. The College’s scenic 1,000-acre campus is near the center of the Town of Amherst. Amherst has a distinguished group of alumni. The College has about 23,000 living alumni, who are represented in almost every walk of life.
Admission Tours & Information Sessions. There are a number of ways you can experience Amherst in person. Reservations are not necessary for individual students and their families, or for groups of 10 or fewer. Groups of more than 10 should call the Office of Admission at (413) 542-2328 two weeks in advance to schedule a visit.

ACDATA lets students view the information the College has concerning home address, contact information, family members, etc. Also, students can use ACDATA to change their communications preferences--in particular, they can designate who can view their student bills.
