12 de ene. de 2019 · FRAZER HINES began his career as a child with the Hammer Horror film X The Unknown and the BBC classic serial The Silver Sword. He is better known these days as Joe Sugden, the earthy farmer of Yorkshire Television's Emmerdale, a role Hines first took on over nineteen years ago.
Frazer Hines came to prominence as a child actor, appearing in several films, including Hammer’s ‘X The Unknown’ (1956) and Charlie Chaplin’s ‘A King in New York’ (1957). In 1957 he played Napoleon in the six part BBC serial ‘Huntingtower’ and followed this with the role of Jan in the seven part BBC serial ‘The Silver Sword’ (1957-8).

Frazer Simpson Frederick Hines (born 22nd September 1944 in Horsforth, Leeds, West Yorkshire) is an English actor who portrayed Joe Sugden in Emmerdale from October 1972 to August 1994. Hines is also best known for his role as Jamie McCrimmon in Doctor Who , his other early television roles included The Silver Sword , Great Expectations , Emergency-Ward 10 , Coronation Street and a few films.
