Childhood & Early Years. Wendy Margaret Hiller was born on 15th August 1912 in Bramhall, near Stockport, Cheshire, England. Her father, Frank Watkin Hiller, was a well-to-do cotton spinner and cloth manufacturer. Her mother was Marie Elizabeth (nee Stone). She had three brothers, René, Michael and John.
13 de ago. de 2015 · She was made a Dame of the British Empire in 1975. Hiller’s last theatrical role was as Maggie Smith’s aunt in 1987’s The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne. She continued to work in the theatre and on TV until her husband’s death in 1993 after which she retired. Dame Wendy Hiller died on May 14, 2003 at the age of 90.
