Rossellini, Renzo , Italian composer and teacher; b. Rome, Feb. 2, 1908; d. Monte Carlo, May 14, 1982. He studied composition in Rome with Setaccioli and Sallustio, and also took courses in orchestration with Molinari. In 1940 he was appointed prof. of composition at the Rome Cons., and in 1956 at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome.
Renzo Rossellini first collaborated with his father, Roberto Rossellini, as an assistant director and, later, as his producer until 1977. Then, he founded and served as chairman of "Gaumont Italia" and, later, "Artisti Associati Spa". With these companies, he produced, financed and distributed more than 100 films.
