Robin Hood: Men in Tights Cary Elwes stars as Robin Hood, the dashing defender of the down-trodden, who along with his merry men and Maid Marion, resides in Sherwood Forest. There they have become together to fight against the seriously neurotic Prince John, the not quite-evil Sheriff of Rottingham, and the mad scorceress Latrine.
Robin Hood comes home after fighting in the Crusades to learn that the noble King Richard is in exile and that the despotic King John now rules England, with the help of the Sheriff of Rottingham. Robin Hood assembles a band of fellow patriots to do battle with King John and the Sheriff.

Waar we bij Young Frankenstein en Blazing Saddles om de haverklap werden getrakteerd op een overvloed aan one-liners, visuele grappen en een geweldige cast, kan ik dit niet zeggen over deze film. Cary Elwes is geweldig, net als zijn tegenspeelster.
Robin assembles a new band of merry men, including the Rabbi Tuckman (Mel Brooks), to unseat the bad King, and finds he has a friend in the palace with the lovely Maid Marian (Amy Yasbeth). Unfortunately her keeper, the haggard Broomhilde (Megan Cavanaugh), has installed a chastity belt on Marian to insure her virtue. Rating. PG-13.
