The House of Mavrokordatos (also Mavrocordato, Mavrocordatos, Mavrocordat, Mavrogordato or Maurogordato; Greek: Μαυροκορδάτος) is the name of a family of Phanariot Greeks originally from Chios, a branch of which was distinguished in the history of the Ottoman Empire, Wallachia, Moldavia, and modern Greece.
Alexandros Mavrokordatos (en griego: Αλέξανδρος Μαυροκορδάτος), nació en Constantinopla en febrero de 1791 y murió en Egina el 18 de agosto de 1865. Fue un héroe de la Guerra de independencia de Grecia y un hombre político griego. Fue Primer Ministro 4 veces entre 1833 y 1854.
