Roman Catholic. Eric II of Saxe-Lauenburg (1318/1320 – 1368) was a son of Duke Eric I of Saxe-Lauenburg and Elisabeth of Pomerania (*1291–after 16 October 1349*), daughter of Bogislaw IV, Duke of Pomerania. Eric II succeeded his father, after his resignation in 1338, as duke of Saxe-Ratzeburg-Lauenburg, a branch duchy of Saxe-Lauenburg.
Eric I, the Elder (German: Erich I., der Ältere; 16 February 1470 – 30 July 1540) was Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg from 1495 and the first reigning prince of Calenberg-Göttingen.
Eric II Duke of Brunswick Lüneburg 1528-1584. Biography. He was the son of Eric I and Elisabeth of Brandenburg. On 17 May 1545 , Eric married Sidonie of Saxony, they did have children. The Reformation had been introduced to his Duchy in 1542, however in 1547, when Duke Eric began his rule, he reconverted to the Catholic faith.
Eric II, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg (10 August 1528 – 17 November 1584) was Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg and ruler of the Principality of Calenberg from 1545 to 1584. Since 1495 the Principality of Göttingen was incorporated in Calenberg. He was the son of Eric I and Elisabeth of Brandenburg.
