The rulers of Mecklenburg were styled Duke of (from 1815 Grand Duke of) Mecklenburg, Prince of the Wends, Schwerin and Ratzeburg, and Count of Schwerin, Lord of the Lands of Rostock and Stargard (Herzog zu / Großherzog von Mecklenburg, Fürst zu Wenden, Schwerin und Ratzeburg, auch Graf zu Schwerin, der Lande Rostock und Stargard Herr).
In this photo the others sons: George Alexandrovich (1871-1899), Xenia Alexandrovna (1875-1960, later married with Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich ), Michael Alexandrovich (1878-1918, later married with Natalia Brassova ) and Olga Alexandrovna (1882-1960 , later married with Duke Peter Alexandrovich of Oldenburg and after with Colonel Nikolai Alexandrovich Kulikovsky ).
On 1860 his elder brother Frederick William succeeded their father as Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. George August died on 20 June 1876 in St. Petersburg, at the age of 52. The line of his son George soon died out; since his first son had married morganatically, his second son Charles Michael became titular grand duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.
Died 1818, Kew Palace. Queen Charlotte was born in Untere Schloss in Mirow, Germany. She was the daughter of Charles, Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and married George III in 1761. They had fifteen children together - 9 boys and 6 girls. George III acquired Buckingham House (renamed the Queen’s House) for her use soon after their marriage in 1762.
