As an only child, Queen Victoria is often depicted as having had a fairly solitary childhood which lacked contact with the outside world. However, she enjoyed a very close relationship with her beloved half-sister Feodora of Leiningen, who was 12 years her senior.
Princess Feodora was born on 12 May 1879 as the only child of Bernhard, Hereditary Prince of Saxe-Meiningen and his wife Princess Charlotte of Prussia, herself the eldest daughter of Prussian Crown Prince Frederick and Princess Victoria.

Princess Adelheid of Saxe-Meiningen (16 August 1891–25 April 1971) she married Prince Adalbert of Prussia on 3 August 1914. They had three children.
