13 de mar. de 2023 · Paul Berg received half of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1980 “for his fundamental studies of the biochemistry of nucleic acids, with particular regard to recombinant-DNA.” The other half was awarded to Walter Gilbert and Frederick Sanger (his second Nobel recognition) “for their contributions concerning the determination of base sequences in nucleic acids.”
Paul Berg, Ph.D., the founding director of the Beckman Center, and the Robert W. and Vivian K. Cahill Professor of Cancer Research Emeritus at the Stanford University School of Medicine, passed away on February 15, 2023, at the age of 96.
