Rate. Short. A wealthy socialite at a ritzy beauty salon has a mudpack on her face when she invites salon attendants Thelma and Patsy to a party, mistakenly thinking that they are social acquaintances whom she want to entertain a visiting count. Just before the working-class pair arrives at the party, the hostess is called away to see an ill dog.
The lovely Thelma Todd was teamed with the brash Patsy Kelly in this attempt by producer Hal Roach to create a female Laurel & Hardy. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it did not. 9 de oct. de 2018 · These shorts, where she is teamed with Zasu Pitts, seem to be better than that series that followed. There are four individuals providing bonus audio commentary tracks. They are uniformly horrible. They talk non-stop, which would not be a problem if they had something of interest to say relative to Thelma Todd, the shorts, or something related.
Pitts and Todd had both previously worked with Roach in various short films and feature films before filming 17 shorts for Roach from 1931 to 1933. The 1930 Leroy Shield song "Beautiful Lady" was used as the theme song for the Pitts and Todd films. Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy made a guest appearance in the 1931 short On the Loose.
