About the Chef. Wylie Dufresne is a Rhode Island native that started in the food industry running his great-grandfather’s diner. He has had a decorated culinary career since then winning a James Beard award, Michelin star, and becoming a leading American proponent of molecular gastronomy, the movement to incorporate science into food presentation and preparation.
Wylie Dufresne, son of a designer and restaurant owner, arrived in Clinton Street, New York, in 1999 but at number 71, chef of Clinton Fresh Food which was awarded 27/30 on the Zagat guide in 2002.
