Tecklenburg ( German: [ˈtɛklənˌbʊʁk] ⓘ) is a town in the district of Steinfurt, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Its name comes from the ruined castle around which it was built. The town is situated on the Hermannsweg hiking trail. The coat of arms shows an anchor and three seeblatts .
Eleanor Marie was a daughter of Prince Christian I (1568-1639) from his marriage to Anna of Bentheim-Tecklenburg (1579-1624), the daughter of Count Arnold III of Bentheim-Tecklenburg-Steinfurt-Limburg.
Das Haus Bentheim-Tecklenburg ist ein ehemals reichsständisches Adelsgeschlecht des westfälischen Uradels. Es ist seit dem 12. Jahrhundert nachweisbar. Die eigenständige Linie der Grafen von Bentheim-Tecklenburg entwickelte sich 1609 nach einer Erbteilung im reichsgräflichen Haus Bentheim.
Anna von Tecklenburg-Schwerin (* 5. Juli 1532; † 24. August 1582) wurde am Freitag nach Mariä Verkündigung im Jahr 1530 oder 1532 auf Schloss Rheda geboren. Als ungefähres Geburtsdatum wird in diversen Quellen der 5. Juli 1532 bestimmt.
Biography. Countess Anna of Bentheim-Tecklenburg was born in Bentheim on 4 January 1579 to Arnold III, Count of Bentheim-Steinfurt-Tecklenburg-Limburg and Magdalena of Neuenahr-Alpen. On 2 July 1595 she married Christian I, Prince of Anhalt-Bernburg in Lohrbach. They had sixteen children: Frederick Christian (b. and d. Amberg, 2 May 1596).
