In this blog post, we will look at 30 poems from some of our greatest poets—poems about patriotism, war, peacekeeping missions, and humanitarian efforts abroad—to kindle an appreciation for those who gave so much in service of their country.
In the UK, people celebrate remembrance day on the second Sunday in November, and this is called Remembrance Sunday. This is the Sunday closest to Armistice day, which is always on the 11th November. There is a two minute silence at 11am on Remembrance Sunday. There are ceremonies at memorials/cenotaphs/churches.
