Gregg Matthew Berhalter ( / ˈbɜːrˌhɔːltər /, BUR-hawl-tər; [2] born August 1, 1973) is an American soccer coach and former player who is currently the head coach of the United States men's national soccer team. [3] He is the first person in United States history to participate in the FIFA World Cup as both a player and head coach.
