Biografía. Destouches D'Alembert fue abandonado al nacer en la puerta de la iglesia de Saint-Jean-le Rond (de ahí el nombre que se le impuso). Fue recogido luego por Madame Rousseau, mujer de pobre condición, la cual se ocupó de su crianza.
