De EC-Comics van dezelfde naam alsmede Haunt of Fear, Weird Science, Shock Suspenstories en the Vault of Horror werden hiervoor gebruikt, waar al tevens eerder een verzameling korte filmpjes van gemaakt zijn te weten Tales from the Crypt 1972 en the Vault of Horror 1973, zie overigens ook mijn berichten onder die films.
