24 de mar. de 2023 · Burghausen is both the name of the city itself as well as the castle. It’s located literally on the border of Germany and Austria basically straight East of Munich. Long ago, the town got a boom from the popular Salt Trade that happened along the Sulzach river, which happens to go riiiiiight by the town and is the natural border between Germany and Austria today.
A fun sculpture in front of some of the beautifully restored buildings on the main plaza in Burghausen. The town saw its rebirth when a chemical company, Wacker, opened production plants in Burghausen in the early 20 th century. Today, you can see the results of its prosperity in its charmingly restored town center.
