Historique. Le Castel dell'Ovo (Castrum Ovi, en latin) est le plus ancien château de Naples, indissociable de l'histoire de sa fondation par un peuple d'origine grecque, abordant l'îlot de Partenope, où ils construisirent un système défensif au VII e siècle av. J.-C. L'édifice est situé sur une petite île, la Mégaride, où les colons de Cumes fondèrent le noyau originel de la ville.
