Wife of Prince Adolphus Frederick, 1st Duke of Cambridge Princess Augusta was the third daughter of Friedrich III, Landgrave of Hesse-Cassel. Born at Rumpenheim Castle, Cassel in Germany., she married her second cousin, the Duke of Cambridge in 1818.
