William IV, Lord of Douglas. Seal of William, Lord of Douglas. William, Lord of Douglas (died 19 July 1333) was a short-lived Scottish nobleman, the son of Sir James Douglas and an unknown mother. Little is known of Lord Douglas's life which, after his father's death in Spain in 1330, he spent under the guardianship of Sir Archibald Douglas .
William IV (German: Wilhelm) called William the Younger ( German: Wilhelm der Jüngere, c. 1425 – 7 July 1503) was duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg and ruled over the Wolfenbüttel and Göttingen principalities. The eldest son of William the Victorious, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg, he was given the Principality of Göttingen by his father in 1473.
In 1165, William IV, Count of Nevers, Auxerre and Tonnerre, ravaged the Abbey of Vézelay. As the King of France begins to gather the host, Count Guillaume IV de Nevers, frightened, and chooses Guillaume I de Dampierre to transmit his submission to the King. Around 1167, he went on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem where he visited the holy places.
