A documentary mixing in-studio performances with interviews to get a glimpse of how Daniel Lanois creates a record album. Some of the talking head segments are obtuse, a lot of the footage is shot in high contrast and grainy stock, there is an interpretive dancer. But when the music is allowed to be front and center, this is truly captivating.
