It is with great sadness that we share news of the death of Richard Henry Stefan Tur. Richard was Benn Fellow and Tutor in Jurisprudence at Oriel College for over three decades from 1979 until 2012, when he retired and was elected an Emeritus Fellow. He passed away at his home on Wednesday 7 December 2023.

In support of excellence in Engineering Science and through the generosity of a College benefactor, Oriel offers two Macdonald Prizes in Engineering each year. These prizes, currently valued at £500 each, are awarded to students completing examinations at the end of the first and third years of the course.
