Printing press at Strawberry Hill Horace Walpole was the youngest son of Sir Robert Walpole, leader of the Whig party, Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer. Settling at Strawberry Hill in 1747, Horace made it into 'a little Gothic castle', collecting articles of virtu and establishing his own printing press there in 1757.
