March 8, 1518: Sidonie of Saxony, Duchess of Brunswick-Lüneburg, was born in Meissen to Duke Heinrich IV of Saxony and Catherine of Mecklenburg. Their third daughter, she married Duke Eric II of Brunswick-Lüneburg in 1545. The marriage began well but disintegrated within a couple years, remaining childless.
