These were all witnessed in addition by Athelstan ‘Rota’. page 128 note 2. BCS 1004, dated 957, is witnessed by the duces Æthelsige and Ælfheah.

He spent much of his reign consolidating his power, establishing himself as the dominant force in Anglo-Saxon England and unifying the various Anglo-Saxon kingdoms.
