He is survived by his younger sister, Duchess Sophie of Württemberg, and his nephew, Patrick, de La Lanne-Mirlees. Patrick is the natural son of Alexander's older sister, Duchess Margarete, and Robin de La Lanne-Mirlees. The Duke was 90 years old.
